Over the Meadow by Jan Patek

Oh my goodness.... this quilt turned out so nice!
It's called "Over the Meadow" It's a block of the month quilt.
but it's more like a "seasons" quilt to me.
spring, summer, fall, winter

I really should have posted the blocks as I went.
It's been a two or three year process.

but each one is special..  the dog here is wool.

I did one piece of wool in each block.
This one is by far the biggest. the beehive.

Lady liberty is so cute! My daughter says she wrong. whatev...
I have just a few of the original "fern hill" fabrics in it.
some of the reds like in the flag and background here and the border mostly.

Many of the fabrics are from my stash.

the witch is so cute! ...and her little woolly black kitty.

love the turkey too. their was some discussion about the weird thing sticky out of his chest
It's a turkey beard. yes, they really have them! Check it out. but they're black not red like th epattern showed, so mine is dark. hahah

Holly and berries!!

I did this block last. partly because it wasn't Christmas yet. partly because it intimidated me a bit - finding just the right fabrics for it, because, its about my favorite block.

the snowman will get some eyes once I've quilted it.
Falling behind in my quilting ladies!

Im not sure how I will quilt it, but it will be great!

Red and Brown Butterflies

Done! I've had this quilt in my mind since I first went to the Phoenix Quilt show and saw the red buttons display.

It was cuter in smaller square, but you don't know something like that until you've already done it. :P

I really love all the chocolate and dark reds.

I also love the scrappy look.

I used lots of beautiful fabrics including some from Jodi Barrows civil war fabric lines.
